OUR STORY

With over 30 years of experience in the Latino music industry, nightlife and entertainment mogul Pedro Zamora built his reputation as one of the largest producers of Latino concerts and Hispanic entertainment events in the United States. But he always carried a dream—owning a restaurant that didn’t just serve Mexican cuisine, but one that also celebrated the heartbeat of Mexican culture: its music.
Mr. Zamora envisioned something more than a restaurant. He dreamed of a space where gastronomy and rhythm met, where families and friends could gather to share authentic flavors, dance to vibrant beats, and create unforgettable memories. Not a nightclub, not an ordinary restaurant, but a hybrid experience where dining blended seamlessly with entertainment.
That vision came to life in 2015, when Cantina Rooftop opened its doors. As the first Mexican rooftop in Manhattan, and the first to feature live DJs and entertainment every single day, Cantina quickly became more than just a dining destination—it became a cultural hub. A place to EAT. DRINK. VIBE. and celebrate Mexican heritage under Hell’s Kitchen skyline.
Cantina Rooftop is proud to be a place where special occasions—from birthdays and anniversaries to engagements and beyond—are celebrated daily. Over the years, our unique energy has caught the attention of major media outlets including Good Morning America, Forbes, Telemundo, and Univision, and we’ve welcomed global superstars such as Shakira, Los Tigres del Norte, Mike Towers, Fat Joe, DJ Adoni, and more.We are also the home of the first and record-breaking biggest commercial in the world. Today, we have proudly become the #1 Mexican rooftop in New York City and the #1 place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in New York—cementing our legacy as an icon in both hospitality and entertainment.
