A Zero-Proof Mexican Brunch in NYC: Mocktails, Plates and Prices
Doing Dry January, skipping alcohol for the day, or just not a mimosa person? Here's what Cantina Rooftop pours without alcohol at weekend brunch, what to eat, what it costs, and how the bottomless deal works.

Brunch in New York usually comes with a drink, often a bottomless one. But plenty of people skip alcohol, for Dry January, training, pregnancy or simply preference. A Mexican brunch suits that table well, because the food does the heavy lifting: eggs and chorizo, chilaquiles, warm tortillas, salsas with some heat.
When is brunch at Cantina Rooftop?
Every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 4:30pm, with the last seating at 3:45pm. A live DJ starts at noon, so think party brunch, not a quiet café. Tables are held for 90 minutes.
We're on the rooftop at 605 W 48th Street, under a retractable glass roof. It opens in warm weather, and in winter it closes and the room is heated, so a Dry January brunch still happens on the roof. How the heated rooftop works.
What zero-proof drinks can you order?
Our drinks menu has its own zero-proof section. Here it is, with prices as they appear on our menu:
The agua fresca de piña is the lightest pick next to spicy plates, the virgin piña colada is the sweet, creamy one, and the Phony Negroni suits anyone who usually orders a negroni.
If you need to avoid alcohol completely, ask your server before you order. In the US, drinks labeled non-alcoholic can still contain a trace of alcohol, under 0.5% by volume.
How does bottomless brunch work if you're not drinking?
Our bottomless brunch is unlimited mimosas and sangrias for $25 per person, for 90 minutes. Two rules matter for a zero-proof plan:
- Everyone at the table participates. Bottomless is ordered for the whole table, not person by person.
- Zero-proof drinks aren't part of it. Mocktails, agua fresca, N/A beer and sodas are ordered separately, at the prices above.
The $25 covers the bottomless drinks; brunch plates are priced separately. If your group is mixed, decide together before you go, or ask us when you book. If no one is drinking alcohol, order plates and zero-proof drinks from the menu. How bottomless brunch works →
What should you order for a Mexican brunch?
The brunch menu leans Mexican, with two sweet plates for the table. Prices as on our menu:
Our menu rates heat out of 4: the Fajitas con Arrachera & Huevo is the hottest brunch plate at 3, the chilaquiles a 2. Several plates contain gluten, so tell your server about allergies.
Most appetizers, tacos and sides from the dinner menu are served at brunch too, so the table can add a guacamole or an order of tacos.
How do you book, and how do you get there?
Walk-ins are welcome, but we recommend booking, especially on weekends. Tables for 2 to 8 book online: pick a Saturday or Sunday and a time up to 3:45pm. For 9 or more, send a group request and we'll call you back.
Cantina Rooftop is at 605 W 48th Street, between 11th and 12th Avenue in Hell's Kitchen, about a 12-minute walk from the C/E subway at 50th Street. We're closed on Mondays.
