Dinner at Cantina Rooftop is a Mexican kitchen, a full bar and a live DJ on the roof at 605 W 48th St. The retractable glass roof opens in warm weather and closes when it's cold or raining, so dinner stays on the roof all year.

What dinner on the roof looks like
You sit under a canopy of rainbow umbrellas with the West Side around the glass. The DJ is on from the first table, and the room gets louder as the night goes on. It's a dinner for friends, dates and birthdays, not a quiet one.
The kitchen is Mexican and built for sharing: birria tacos with consomé for dipping, carnitas, three kinds of guacamole and plates for the middle of the table. The bar pours margaritas, mezcal and tequila, from frozen to the skull mug you take home.

A rooftop that doesn't close for the season
On warm nights the glass roof opens and you eat under the sky. When it's cold, raining or snowing, it closes over the dining room. Same roof, same DJ, Tuesday to Sunday all year; we're closed on Mondays.
Closed Mondays. Tables are held for 90 minutes.

What time is dinner at Cantina Rooftop?
Dinner starts at 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Our hours: Tuesday to Thursday 5pm to 11pm, Friday 5pm to 3am, Saturday 12pm to 3am and Sunday 12pm to 9:30pm. Closed Mondays.
Do I need a reservation for dinner?
We recommend one, especially Friday to Sunday, and every weekly special is by reservation. Book a table for 2 to 8 on this page and it's booked right away. Walk-ins are welcome when there's room.
Is the rooftop open for dinner in winter?
Yes. The retractable glass roof closes when it's cold or raining, so dinner stays on the roof all year, Tuesday to Sunday.
Is there music at dinner?
Yes. There's a live DJ every night we're open, and on Wednesdays karaoke runs from 7pm to 10pm.
What's on each night?
Tuesday is Taco Tuesday: unlimited tacos for $25 per person for 90 minutes. Wednesday is karaoke from 7pm to 10pm. Thursday brings the Taco Tower ($90) and the piña colada trio ($25). On weekends, bottomless brunch comes first, from 12pm.
Can I have dinner before a Broadway show?
Yes. Times Square and the theaters are about a 20-minute walk or a short cab away, so book early enough to leave time to get to your seat. Dinner before a show.
