In Paramount Plaza on W 51st St. Leave the luggage and big shopping bags at the hotel: the Gershwin won't take them. From our rooftop at 605 W 48th St, it's about 15 min on foot, or a short cab. Tacos, margaritas and a live DJ first, then the show.

  1. Head east on W 48th St, toward 11th Ave.
  2. Cross 11th, 10th and 9th Aves. At 8th Ave, turn left and go 3 blocks north to W 51st St.
  3. Turn right on W 51st St. The Gershwin is on your right.

In theater shoes or bad weather, it's a short cab ride. Tell the driver 222 W 51st St.

At the door

There are metal detectors at the entrance and all bags are inspected. Luggage and large packages that won't fit at your seat aren't checked or allowed inside. We plan for you to be there 30 minutes before curtain, or earlier if the theater asks.

Late seating is up to the theater, so leave yourself room. Tell your server you have a show when you sit down.

How far is the Gershwin from Cantina Rooftop?

About 15 min on foot from our door at 605 W 48th St, or a short cab. Gershwin Theatre is at 222 W 51st St.

When should I book dinner before a 7pm show at the Gershwin?

Book the 5:00 pm table and leave by 6:15 pm. That has you at the door 30 minutes before curtain or earlier, if the theater asks. Book a table.

What about a matinee?

On a Saturday with a 2pm show, sit down for brunch at 12:00 pm and leave by 1:15 pm. We don't serve lunch on weekdays, so for a Wednesday matinee, come up for dinner afterward: we open at 5pm.

Can we eat after the show instead?

Yes. The last reservation is 10pm Tuesday to Saturday and 9pm on Sunday. We're closed on Mondays. Book a late table.

How long will dinner take?

Tables are held for 90 minutes. If you have a show, tell your server when you sit down and order early.
