Dinner before the Palace

It reopened in 2024 with the entrance moved from Broadway to W 47th St, so head for 160 W 47th, not the old Broadway door. From our rooftop at 605 W 48th St, it's about 16–17 min on foot, or a short cab. Tacos, margaritas and a live DJ first, then the show.

The walk to the Palace

The umbrella is us and the orange dot is the Palace. The small dots are the other Broadway theaters. Drawn to scale from street measurements. Walk times are door to door at an easy pace, without waiting at lights.

Head east on W 48th St, toward 11th Ave.
Cross 11th, 10th and 9th Aves. At 8th Ave, turn right and go 1 block south to W 47th St.
Turn left on W 47th St and cross Broadway and 7th Ave. The Palace is on your right.

In theater shoes or bad weather, it's a short cab ride. Tell the driver 160 W 47th St.

At the door

Most theaters open their doors 30 to 45 minutes before curtain, and some ask you to arrive earlier to clear security. We plan for you to be there 30 minutes before curtain, or earlier if the theater asks.

Late seating is up to the theater, so leave yourself room. Tell your server you have a show when you sit down.

How far is the Palace from Cantina Rooftop?

About 16–17 min on foot from our door at 605 W 48th St, or a short cab. Palace Theatre is at 160 W 47th St.

When should I book dinner before a 7pm show at the Palace?

Book the 5:00 pm table and leave by 6:13 pm. That has you at the door 30 minutes before curtain or earlier, if the theater asks. Book a table.

What about a matinee?

On a Saturday with a 2pm show, sit down for brunch at 12:00 pm and leave by 1:13 pm. We don't serve lunch on weekdays, so for a Wednesday matinee, come up for dinner afterward: we open at 5pm.

Can we eat after the show instead?

Yes. The last reservation is 10pm Tuesday to Saturday and 9pm on Sunday. We're closed on Mondays. Book a late table.

How long will dinner take?

Tables are held for 90 minutes. If you have a show, tell your server when you sit down and order early.
