Who's ordering the habanero? A heat guide to our menu
Most of our plates aren't hot on their own, because the heat comes on the side. So a table with one chile lover and one person who can't take black pepper can order the same tacos and have two different dinners.
The salsas, hottest first
The heat ratings come from our menu.
- Habanero-pineapple
- Salsa de árbol
- Tamarindo morita
- Salsa verde
Salsas come on the side, so everyone at the table can pick their own.
If you want it hot
- Habanero Margarita$18Habanero tequila, triple sec and lime.
- Spicy Mango$18Habanero mezcal, mango and habanero salt.
- Jalapeño Margarita$18Mezcal, lime and jalapeño salt. Jalapeño instead of habanero, so a little gentler.
- Michelada Cantina$10Beer with lime, salt and a spicy Mexican salsa.
- Enchiladas Verdes$28The plate our menu marks as a little spicy.
- Picadera para Dos$38The guacamole on this one is the spicy kind.

If you don't
None of these is marked as spicy on our menu.
- Birria tacos$22Rich braised beef and consomé. People assume these are hot. On our menu, they aren't marked that way.
- Carnitas tacos$19Slow-braised pork, crisped to order.
- Queso Fundido$18Melted cheese and poblanos.
- Braised Short Ribs$35Slow-braised, with mashed potatoes.
- Vozul Margarita$18Tequila, lime and agave.
Every taco order comes with a creamy zucchini sauce and a chile de árbol sauce. The second one has some heat, so go easy on it.
Heat questions
Is birria spicy?
Ours isn't marked as spicy: it's slow-braised beef with consomé for dipping. The heat comes from the salsas on the side, so you pick how far to go. How to eat it.
What's the hottest thing on the menu?
The habanero-pineapple salsa, which our menu gives its top heat rating. For a drink, try the Habanero Margarita.
Do you have spicy margaritas?
Yes. There's a Habanero Margarita, a Jalapeño Margarita and a Spicy Mango on our margarita list.
