Rockefeller Center is 0.98 miles east of Cantina Rooftop, about 20 minutes on foot along 48th or 49th Street, or a short cab ride. We're a Mexican restaurant and rooftop bar at 605 W 48th St in Hell's Kitchen: dinner from 5pm, a live DJ every night and a retractable glass roof over the tables. Closed Mondays.

Six avenues west
From Rockefeller Center, pick up 48th or 49th Street and head toward the river. You cross 6th Avenue, then 7th Avenue and Broadway just north of Times Square, then 8th, 9th and 10th as the blocks turn into Hell's Kitchen.
On 48th, go straight past 11th Avenue: we're on that block, before 12th Avenue, on the roof of the HK Hall building. On 49th, turn left at 11th Avenue, walk one block down to 48th, then turn right.
Coming from Radio City Music Hall, on 6th Avenue at 50th Street, add a minute or so; from MoMA on W 53rd St, allow about 25. And if the day has already been long, a cab across town is a short ride.
Where it fits in a Midtown day
After the plaza, the shops or the museum. Dinner starts at 5pm, so a late afternoon in Midtown rolls straight into a table on the roof. Walking over is part of the plan: twenty minutes is enough to leave the office towers behind.
Before a show at Radio City. Check the venue's website for your show time and book a table early enough to eat without watching the clock. Allow about 20 minutes to get back east on foot, less in a cab.

Trading Midtown for tacos
The table is Mexican: tacos, guacamole, margaritas and mezcal. A DJ plays live every night, and the glass roof retracts in summer and closes in winter, when the room is heated. See the menu →

Can I walk over from Radio City Music Hall?
Yes, it's about 21 minutes. From 6th Avenue at 50th Street, walk west to 11th Avenue, go two blocks down to 48th Street and turn right.
How long is the walk from MoMA?
About 25 minutes from W 53rd St. Head west to 11th Avenue, then south to 48th Street. After a long museum day, a cab is the easier option.
