The only Broadway house west of 8th Ave, which makes it one of our shortest walks. From our rooftop at 605 W 48th St, it's about 13–16 min on foot, or a short cab. Tacos, margaritas and a live DJ first, then the show.

The walk to the Al Hirschfeld

Head east on W 48th St, toward 11th Ave.
Cross 11th, 10th and 9th Aves. At 8th Ave, turn right and go 3 blocks south to W 45th St.
Turn right on W 45th St. The Al Hirschfeld is just west of 8th Ave, on your left.

In theater shoes or bad weather, it's a short cab ride. Tell the driver 302 W 45th St.

At the door

Doors open about 40 minutes before showtime, everyone goes through a metal detector, and large bags go to coat check. We plan for you to be there 30 minutes before curtain, or earlier if the theater asks.

Late seating is up to the theater, so leave yourself room. Tell your server you have a show when you sit down.

How far is the Al Hirschfeld from Cantina Rooftop?

About 13–16 min on foot from our door at 605 W 48th St, or a short cab. Al Hirschfeld Theatre is at 302 W 45th St.

When should I book dinner before a 7pm show at the Al Hirschfeld?

Book the 5:00 pm table and leave by 6:14 pm. That has you at the door 30 minutes before curtain or earlier, if the theater asks. Book a table.

What about a matinee?

On a Saturday with a 2pm show, sit down for brunch at 12:00 pm and leave by 1:14 pm. We don't serve lunch on weekdays, so for a Wednesday matinee, come up for dinner afterward: we open at 5pm.

Can we eat after the show instead?

Yes. The last reservation is 10pm Tuesday to Saturday and 9pm on Sunday. We're closed on Mondays. Book a late table.

How long will dinner take?

Tables are held for 90 minutes. If you have a show, tell your server when you sit down and order early.
