An espresso martini with two extra guests

Dick Bradsell, a London bartender, gets the credit for the espresso martini. He made it in the 1980s as a vodka and coffee drink on the rocks, and the martini name came later.

What the extras do

The tale of a model asking for something to wake her up is a good one, and he never named her, so treat it as a legend. The drink moved into a martini glass in the 1990s, and the name followed.

Baileys, launched in Ireland in 1974, makes the drink creamier and sweeter than the original. Licor 43 is a Spanish liqueur from Cartagena, heavy on vanilla and citrus, with 43 ingredients. There's real espresso in this kind of drink, so a late order can have consequences at bedtime.
