Date night for couples who'd rather laugh than whisper
Skip the candle. Order Picadera para Dos ($38) and a couple of skull mugs, and eat under rainbow umbrellas with a DJ going and Midtown behind you. Dinner starts at 5pm, on a rooftop at 605 W 48th St.
Each night is a different date
Tuesday
The cheap date. Unlimited tacos at $25 each for 90 minutes, and you'll both leave full.
Wednesday
The dare. Karaoke runs 7 to 10pm. Book before the mic comes out and decide over a margarita whether either of you is singing.
Thursday
The one you split. A piña colada trio at $25 and one plate between you, if the mood is right.
Friday
The big night out. Book at 8 or later, once the night has had time to get loud.
Sunday
The daytime date. Brunch from 12pm with a live DJ, and you still have your Sunday evening. Bottomless is $25 a person, and you both have to be in.
An order for two
- Picadera para Dos$38Guacamole, pork belly, tostones, yuca fries and fried cheese on one plate. It has two in the name for a reason.
- Piña Loca$39A piña colada in a whole pineapple. You will take a picture of it.
- Vozul Skull Margarita$39You keep the mug. Two of them make a decent souvenir of the night.
- Skull Lava Cake$12Chocolate lava cake shaped like a skull, with raspberry sauce and ice cream. Share it.
What you shouldn't come here for
You get 90 minutes at the table, and the table next to you may be celebrating something at full volume. Leave the talk about the future of the relationship for another night.
Come when you've been meaning to have some fun together and you keep ending up on the couch.

What's a fun date night idea in NYC?
Dinner with a live DJ on a rooftop is ours: tacos, margaritas and the Midtown skyline, with something different most nights. On Wednesdays there's karaoke from 7 to 10pm.
Is Cantina Rooftop romantic?
If your idea of romantic is quiet and candlelit, no. You'll get a DJ, a crowd and a lot of noise. Some couples love that and some don't.
Is it open for date night in winter?
Yes. When it's cold the glass roof closes and the room is heated, so dinner stays on the roof.
What nights are you open?
Tuesday to Sunday. Dinner starts at 5pm, and the last reservation is 10pm most nights and 9pm on Sunday.
