There's a DJ at dinner because a concert producer built the place
Pedro Zamora spent over 30 years producing Latin music concerts. When he opened Cantina Rooftop in 2015, he put Mexican food and Mexican music in the same room. So there's a live DJ every night we're open, and from noon at weekend brunch.
The DJ's week, from our live schedule
This reads from the same schedule the team edits, so it's what's on right now.
| Night | Opens | Also on |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday | 5pm | Taco Tuesday |
| Wednesday | 5pm | Karaoke night |
| Thursday | 5pm | Taco Tower + Piña Colada Trio |
| Friday | 5pm | DJ dinner |
| Saturday | 12pm | Brunch, then the party |
| Sunday | 12pm | Bottomless brunch |
Mondays we're closed, so no DJ and no dinner.
What it sounds like at the table
The idea was Mexican food and Mexican music in one room. The music is loud enough to be part of the dinner, and it builds from when the first tables sit down.
We don't list DJs on this site, so book for the night that suits you. If you're hoping for someone in particular, call us at (212) 957-1700.

How the music changes the dinner
| At dinner | With a DJ on |
|---|---|
| Talking | You'll raise your voice. Late in the evening, you may give up. |
| Timing | Tables are held for 90 minutes, so you'll get the build, not the whole night. |
| Who you bring | Friends who like music. Parents, maybe. A first date, it depends. |
| Wednesdays | The DJ runs the room while karaoke goes 7 to 10pm. |
