Havana on one side, the beach on the other
The mojito's home is Havana, though how it started is still debated, and the Francis Drake story told about it remains a story. Coco loco is a looser name, used around the Caribbean and on the Mexican coast for coconut drinks with no single recipe.
A regular mojito tastes sharp and minty. Coco López pulls this one toward a piña colada, creamier and sweeter, so it drinks more like dessert with rum in it. Take your time with it.
Coco López is what sets ours apart from a regular mojito, with Tanduay gold rum, pineapple, lime, simple syrup and mint, served in a coconut.
