Wine with tacos, without the fuss

Wine with tacos is easier than it sounds. High acid and low oak work with lime and chile, and big tannins fight them.

A short guide to the list

Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio suit the sharper plates, such as guacamole or anything with lime. Chardonnay is a safer pick for cream and cheese. Sparkling cuts through fried food. Pinot Noir is the light red, good with pork.

For grilled beef, Malbec is the natural call. The grape started around Cahors in southwest France and found its real home in Argentina after French cuttings went over in the 1800s. Cabernet Sauvignon is the heaviest of these, so save it for short ribs. With a lot of chile, stay cold and bubbly.

On our menu

Our list names seven grapes and styles and no bottles: Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Sparkling, Pinot Noir, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. Ask your server what's open.
