The chelada: beer, lime, salt, done

A chelada is the plain version: beer, lime juice and salt, with nothing red in the glass. Chela is Mexican slang for a beer.

The line that keeps moving

The line between this and a michelada depends on where you're drinking. In some regions the two names swap entirely, and some US brands use chelada for a beer with tomato juice. So if it matters to you, ask before you order.

It's the simplest way to make a light lager taste sharper on a warm night, and the easy pick if you want something refreshing without a meal in the glass. It's good with anything fried.

On our menu

Just lime and salt on ours, nothing red. The menu doesn't explain the HK.
